We are also very happy with the contribution our visitors have made to Starlight Children's Foundation through our donation box. The box (and the show) will still be up until at least the first of January, so if you haven't visited yet you still have time!
The 2011 show has now been uploaded. We have been thrilled by the number of visitors so far - we think we have had over 300 on a couple of nights (though thankfully not all at the same time!), and over 500 people have viewed this website! We are also very happy with the contribution our visitors have made to Starlight Children's Foundation through our donation box. The box (and the show) will still be up until at least the first of January, so if you haven't visited yet you still have time! Unfortunately due to copyright on the music (Christmas Overture by the Carpenters) this video is not available on mobile devices.

Imagine a house with 420 light switches all controlled by a computer... we have that just for our Christmas lights.
We have a lot of wonderful new hardware this year, which means we have a lot more i/o channels than we did last year. And we want them to all dance with the music. So now we are starting to program the lights in preparation for the December 1 launch using some very useful software called Light Show Pro 2. Today I programmed one minute of show, which took about 5 hours. Aiming for about 8 minutes we have about 35 hours of programming to go. We are excited to be in possession of the very latest in light show automation, the brand new release of LSP 2.0. We hope this will eliminate some of our bugs from last year while allowing us to handle a significant increase in channel count - We will have over 400 regular DMX channels, which is a big increase from 240 last year, and even more (2000+) brand new pixel based channels which run over ethernet. I guess this means we have to start programming... September is a bit after our July target, but we hope we will have some time to get at least a couple of songs going!
